Resident Evil Requiem is easily my favorite game so far in 2026. It is very high on my list of Resident Evil games, only fighting with RE2 as the best of all time. This is an easy recommendation. This game is one of the best I have played in years, and I cannot recommend it enough. Do not hesitate, play this game. Capcom continues to hit on all cylinders, and I cannot wait to see what they do next.

Resident Evil Requiem is one of the best, if not the best, Resident Evil games I've ever played. And I mean ever. The controls, the level(s) of difficulty, the characters, and the story are all immersive. The only thing I wanted to put down are those zombies. Capcom has done it again.

Requiem's two-pronged experience could have ended up feeling repetitive; it could have been a jarring mishmash of incongruent parts. Instead, Capcom has sewn a connective tissue between fear and thrill. And Resident Evil Requiem finds everything else in the middle of those exhilarating extremes.

Resident Evil Requiem is a pitch perfect love letter to fans of the series. Capcom has absolutely nailed the dual protagonist mechanic which sits at the core of a truly incredible piece of storytelling. The result is a must-play title for those both familiar and new to the series. Put simply, it’s an absolute tour de force.

A masterful fusion of classic survival horror and high-intensity action, Resident Evil Requiem seamlessly blends Grace's methodical survival stealth with Leon's explosive combat into a cohesive vision that respects the franchise's legacy while boldly shaping its future. Capcom delivers an ambitious, meticulously crafted entry that reflects remarkable creative maturity, one that restores faith in truly exceptional survival horror in the modern era.

Resident Evil Requiem easily establishes itself as one of the best in the series. The bombastic action and terrifyingly intimate horror are at a fever pitch throughout, with a masterful switching between the two without ever feeling disjointed. This sort of experience can only be achieved through decades of trial, error and triumph, and Requiem shows a keen understanding of what has made the series great over the years - and what can take it to the next level. Polished, enjoyable and sure to put a cheesy grin on every face and shiver up every spine, this is a must-play survival horror title that never misses a step.

Capcom has produced an absolute labour of love with Resident Evil Requiem and every ounce of the game is brimming with intricate detail that will both test and delight gamers at the same time. It's not often you get an experience where it leaves players truly hungry for more (brains?), but after scouring every nook and cranny, uncovering all the meticulously pieced together puzzles and hidden elements, before finally blasting through the final stages, after barely being able to get your breath back, there is a desire for more. The role switching and perspective shifting might sound daunting on paper, but has been expertly interweaved by the masterful hands of those at the helm. This is truly the pinnacle of the long-running survival horror series, and one that will be hard-pressed to match in the future, not merely for Capcom, but more so for its rivals in the genre. A true masterpiece of the current generation, without a doubt, taking the supreme legacy of the series and elevating it to new heights.

"Game of the year" Resident Evil Requiem offers a complete and thrilling experience for fans of the series, blending horror, survival, and action with a dual-character system that balances tension and action. Switching between Grace and Leon provides constant gameplay variety, with challenging levels, smarter and more interactive enemies, and richly detailed environments. The game stays true to the series' identity while offering modern improvements in graphics, sound, and mechanics that make every moment of the game tense and exciting, making it the best the series has offered to date.

Easily the best Resident Evil game in many years, with inspirations from both RE2’s survival horror and RE4’s more action horror. Paced perfectly, and with plenty of surprises to discover, I can’t recommend Resident Evil Requiem highly enough.

Resident Evil Requiem succeeds by remembering what made the franchise iconic, vulnerability, tension, and atmosphere. While it doesn’t radically reinvent the formula, it polishes it to perfection. Fans of classic survival horror will appreciate the deliberate pacing, while newer players will enjoy its cinematic storytelling.

Resident Evil Requiem, to me, is one of the series’ best. As a culmination of every game that came before, I can confidently say that the story serves as both a fitting conclusion for many threads left open over the years and a benchmark for where we can expect to go from here. It combines the best parts of virtually every modern Resident Evil title, offering the iconic horror atmosphere that pioneered a genre, incredibly satisfying combat mechanics, and immersive puzzle design that even newcomers can enjoy.

Resident Evil Requiem delivers a bloody blend of classic survival horror and frantic action. I love creeping through dark corridors with Grace, solving puzzles and hiding from zombies, just as much as I enjoy Leon’s sections, where I can let loose and land satisfying headshots. Clever level design and strong mechanical contrasts create perfectly balanced pacing while giving both characters room to shine. Impressive visuals, responsive controls, and punchy sound design round out the experience — it’s just a shame the wild ride ends after roughly ten hours.

While playing Resident Evil Requiem, I felt the same excitement I used to experience when playing the classic entries of the series on the PSX. That’s the highest compliment I can give, because I didn’t expect any modern survival horror to deliver such incredible emotions again. Capcom spent a long time experimenting with a new direction for its iconic franchise, but it seems they’ve finally found the perfect balance. I also believe it’s a very strong contender for Game of the Year.
