NintendoWorldReport's Reviews

But there are so many glaring flaws in how it's constructed that, if I wasn't reviewing this game, those would have been enough for me to exit out right then and there. I could easily see a sequel or similar title by this developer being one of my favorite games, but with all the issues this ended up being a rough experience. I'm going to keep trying to play more of this, and since I didn't come close to an ending I don't feel like I can honestly give this a score, but I feel like this game is constantly pushing back at me getting to that point.

If you had told me that one day Bubsy would be part of the 3D platformer renaissance I, and many others, would've laughed you out of the room. But here we are. It's Bubsy's world once more and we are just living in it.

I can look fondly on the disappointment that hit me when I played that Silver Surfer game as a kid for the first time. These games are all here with basically every relevant version of them on offer. It's just relatively barebones aside from the X-Men online multiplayer (fingers crossed it works well) and in an era of Digital Eclipse documentary collection, the standard should be higher.

Its use of familiar mechanics in a novel wrapping and the enticing aesthetic and presentation do help to smooth out some of the rougher edges mentioned above. At present, I'm hovering around a lukewarm recommendation, but check out Nintendo World Report dot com closer to the game's March 25th release date for a final score update. In the meantime, DAMON and BABY does have an eShop demo with progress that carries over to the full game, so check out for yourself how it feels to play as this devilish cute duo ahead of launch.

With stability addressed I will have no doubt recommending this as an early contender for indie of 2026 on Switch and Switch 2. Until then, consider other platforms or double check that the launch day patch has hit. I'll be checking back in on Big Hops with the hopes of giving it the positive score it deserves, very soon.

To me, it is the combination of this particular historical setting and its varied gameplay that is keeping me hooked. This world and its characters feel like the next step for the Assassin's Creed series. It may have taken a while for the series to get (back) to Nintendo, but what a fun return it has been so far.

At the end of the day, however, this is the definitive way in 2025 to buy a trilogy of some fantastic games along with its DLC, new content, and other upgrades. If you've been thinking about getting into the Atelier series and don't know where to start, this is a great place to begin your Atelier journey. If you're already a seasoned alchemist, it might be OK to wait to see what else Gust is cooking up - or hey, pick up one or both of the other Atelier games released this year.

This is a review in progress due to the fact I'm not quite done with the game and can't speak to the completed story, but I think the gameplay and characters show just why so many fans like myself have fallen in love with the Atelier series. It incorporates classic Atelier gameplay with fan favorite characters while still including fresh gameplay ideas. While this was definitely made with existing fans of the series in mind, Atelier Resleriana is something that new fans can also appreciate as well.

How they have maintained the rights and how Dark Forces somehow escaped to Nightdive instead (thank the maker) I'll never know. It is time to put more care into re-releasing these games. These games are iconic, oftentimes genre shifting, and they deserve better than this.

I expect that I'll need another 10-20 hours to see the main story through to completion, and even more to discover all of the secrets hidden around the world map. Once those tasks are complete, I'll be updating this review with a final score. Until then, I feel confident in saying we're looking at another candidate that's sure to take home some end-of-the-year accolades.

This is a review-in-progress due to some technical errors that were fixed prior to launch. At this point I believe I'm about halfway through the story and wanted to fully progress through the story before making my final, scored review.

Unscored - Railway Empire 2

undefined.Overall, unless an update comes out to fix the glitches, either go buy the game on another platform or just go back to playing the original Railway Empire on Switch. With graphics the way they are, it probably is not worth the frustration of trying to get it to work. It is a shame as I see that they put work into improving the track laying system, but it just doesn't look like they put work into the Switch port.

undefined. While I'm here, let me give a quick note on Pikmin 2: It's been a long time since I played Pikmin 2 so I didn't want to write a hasty review of it without really putting time into it, but as far as I can tell it also appears to be a straight port of the New Play Control version with the same control scheme on Switch as Pikmin 1. The single immediate change I could see was that the Duracell battery in the game's opening stage has been replaced with a fake generic brand, which probably applies to the other licensed real-world products throughout the game.

The developers have promised a day one patch to address these issues, and judging by the updates the game received on PC, I'm inclined to trust them. However, at this moment I still recommend Stay Out of the House, but only the tried-and-true original PC version.

It's difficult to justify calling this new version a remaster at all since it includes all of the problems with the previous version while introducing entirely new problems on top of that. The bare minimum for a port of a retro game should be that you won't notice any technical problems if you haven't played the original, and Tales of Symphonia Remastered does not even clear that bar. It is playable; it's still Tales of Symphonia, but that is the absolute least we can ask of it, and that is the absolute most we've gotten from it.

As much as I loved the chance to play an additional chapter, Tiki's paralogue doesn't live up to the standard set by base game maps, and the Emblem Bracelets themselves don't add much to a completed save file-though it was nice to see Tiki and the house leaders get a chance to talk to Marth and Byleth since the Emblem characters never actually talk to each other in the base game. The expansion pass is a better value if you purchase it early in your playthrough, but you'll likely be stuck in the same position I am now for the remaining five Emblem characters to be added throughout 2023. Ironically the DLC is likely to be more enticing for players who pick up Engage late after all of the additional content has been added, since it's tough to say you'll get your money's worth now unless you're confident you'll still be playing Fire Emblem Engage at the end of this year.

It's hard to fully rate these fan discs or compilations of post-game content because they're so dependent on how well the base game clicked with you, or if you weren't satisfied with the handling of a suitor and want to see them get their comeuppance. Later x Crowd is one of the better fandisc treatments on the Switch, however, with a good mix of modes and two games worth of fanservice. It's a definite recommendation after clearing the original.

I want to say that Ruined King is great, because on a design level it is. It shows off the appeal of Runeterra while crafting a unique RPG battle system that is deep, engaging, and rewarding. But the presence of such an obvious and debilitating bug makes it difficult for me to recommend. Some may say that I’m making a mountain out of a molehill over having to take five minutes out of my time every couple of hours, and I have no doubt that many people will probably push past the bug and still love the game regardless.
