While having a fairly brutal difficulty in the opening hours, the way the game rewards exploration made it even more difficult to put down. Finding new trinkets that eased some of the parts I found more difficult (particularly a floaty that gives you a safety bounce over pits) helped me know my frustrations wouldn’t be never-ending. The pixel art is breathtaking, and the story beats had some very interesting twists and turns. Every part of the ending, from the final battle to the epilogue to the credits, was absolutely perfect.
