Death Stranding 2 is a refinement of everything Kojima reached for the first time. It sharpens the tools, deepens the intimacy, and respects silence as much as spectacle. Some moments linger, not fireworks, but embers. That’s the kind of emotional perseverance that earns a perfect score in my book. If you can walk it, even for a mile at a time, this game will carry you forward. And when it ends, the world you built won’t disappear. It’ll stay with you.

10 / 10.0 - Hell Is Us
Sep 1, 2025

Few games challenge the status quo as confidently as Hell is Us, and I found myself fully immersed in its vision and execution. In a time when so many games feel afraid to let players think for themselves, this one demands it. It takes bold swings in its design, its storytelling, and its philosophy, and remarkably, it lands every one of them. The satisfaction I felt solving its puzzles, discovering its secrets, and unravelling its story far surpassed what I’ve experienced in most modern games. It’s not often a perfect score is given, but Hell is Us earns it. For its brave design, for trusting the player, and for delivering one of the most memorable adventures I’ve played in years, it gets my highest recommendation.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is the perfect sequel. It’s bigger and better in every way imaginable. The world of Pharloom is a joy to explore, despite the added challenges of boss fights and platforming. The split currency can be frustrating at times, but patches have mostly fixed the problem, and resolving this imbalance wouldn’t make sense in the context of the story. The addition of a voiced protagonist in the form of Hornet also enhances the immersion in this world, and once Pharloom has its hooks in you, it won’t let go. The game may be difficult to master, but with enough practice, you can work your way through and even slay gods.

9.5 / 10.0 - Persona 3 Reload
Nov 1, 2025

After dozens of hours working my way through the world of Persona 3 Reload, I realised it had done something few games manage: it made me nostalgic for a story I'd never experienced before. There's a timeless quality to its blend of daily life and existential drama, a rhythm that prompts reflection on one's own choices and relationships.

I’ve had a lot of fun playing SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide. It captures the essence of the show perfectly, and Purple Lamp once again demonstrates their in-depth knowledge of the series with an abundance of references to it in both collectibles and story momen

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on Nintendo Switch 2 is not simply a remake. It’s a conversation between eras, a testament to how far storytelling and technology have come, and a reminder that great stories never truly age but evolve. It honours its legacy without being shackled by it. It modernises without erasing history. It dazzles technically while grounding itself emotionally. Whether you’re stepping into Midgar for the first time or returning after decades, this version offers something rare: the feeling of discovery layered atop remembrance. If this is merely the opening act of the trilogy, then the future of Final Fantasy VII has never looked brighter or more ambitious. And somewhere, in the glow of neon and memory, the planet breathes a little easier knowing its story is still being told.

In Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, Square Enix once again proves its ability to do a remake justice. The new orchestral soundtrack and handcrafted visual style not only elevate the immersion, but also make the game more enjoyable. The changes that streamline both story and gameplay also make the transition to newer hardware much more enjoyable. Combined with the deep accessibility options that let you adjust the difficulty and the episodic structure of the separate islands, this makes for a long RPG that even the busiest players will be able to enjoy at their own pace. If the quality of recent Dragon Quest games sets a new standard, I can’t wait to see what the teams at Square Enix will show us next.

Resident Evil Requiem is the new blueprint for what survival horror should be. Capcom really delivered with its dual perspective, offering extreme horror on one side and over-the-top action on the other. It’s the perfect marriage of the two Resident Evil styles, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it. There are small letdowns in the story that prevent me from giving it a perfect score, but this one is a no-brainer nevertheless. If you’re a fan of the genre, this is a must-have.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection demonstrates that the series has really come into its own in recent years. With its engaging story, strong visuals, and excellent soundtrack, it immerses you in a wonderful world filled with unique creatures. The Monsterpedia offers a great mix of classic monsters and newer additions from more recent titles. Combat can feel a bit random at first during clashes, but once you unlock the Rite of Channeling, you can customize your Monsties to your heart’s content. If you’re looking to dive into this vibrant world and push back against the encroaching threat, this is an easy recommendation.

9.5 / 10.0 - Pokémon Pokopia
Mar 10, 2026

Pokémon Pokopia feels like a bit of a radical step for the franchise. By removing battles and focusing entirely on creativity, cooperation, and environmental restoration, it reimagines what a Pokémon game can be. What did we get? A game that feels comforting yet ambitious. How? Well, it may look simple on the surface, but it is surprisingly deep once you start experimenting with its systems. Cozy gamers will find a well-filled sandbox, full of charm, while Pokémon fans will discover a world that finally lets them live alongside their favourite creatures rather than command them. And perhaps most impressively, Pokopia stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the games that inspired it. It combines both the warmth of Animal Crossing and the creativity of Dragon Quest Builders, but it ultimately becomes something entirely on its own. Pokopia is one of the most refreshing Pokémon games in years. And if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to make some more houses for my Pokémon.

9.5 / 10.0 - Replaced
Apr 14, 2026

Replaced is a seamless experience that grabs your attention from the outset and doesn’t let go. The seamless platforming and combat make you feel like an action star in one of your favorite blockbusters, a sensation enhanced by the excellent 2.5D visual style, which sometimes uses camera angles inspired by movies to heighten the action. There’s no doubt that REPLACED will become a go-to reference for anyone wanting to show that pixel graphics can be just as beautiful as realistic 3D. This modern-day classic has already made its way to the top of my Game of the Year list, and it will be hard to dethrone.

Mouse: P.I. For Hire is one of those rare games that feels fully formed, not just in its individual parts, but in how those parts come together. It’s a shooter, yes, but it’s also a character study, a stylistic experiment, and a love letter to a form of animation that rarely gets this kind of attention in games. It feels tailored for me, as a person, and it’s well worth the wait. By combining a strong narrative structure with expressive gameplay and a truly unique visual identity, it stands out in an increasingly crowded genre.

9.5 / 10.0 - Mixtape
May 9, 2026

Mixtape is one of the most personal and emotionally resonant games I’ve played in years. Its experimental structure and collection of strange mini-games won’t work for everyone, but for me, every part of it clicked. The music, visual style, and coming-of-age story come together in a way that feels incredibly intimate and honest. It made me laugh, reflect on my own youth, and at times left me surprisingly emotional. Even though the story is rooted in a very specific time and place, the feelings behind it are universal. Mixtape won’t appeal to everyone, but if it connects with you, it will stay with you long after the final song fades out.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth accomplishes something extraordinarily difficult. It takes a beloved story that many considered impossible to improve upon and expands it in ways that feel meaningful, ambitious, and surprisingly respectful. It transforms a focused remake into a sprawling adventure, deepens an already exceptional cast, and delivers one of the most content-rich RPG experiences available today. More importantly, it validates everything Square Enix set out to achieve with this trilogy. For Nintendo Switch 2 owners, the achievement becomes even more remarkable. Rebirth isn’t merely another major third-party release arriving on Nintendo hardware. It’s proof that the platform can host modern blockbuster RPGs without sacrificing their identities. Just a few months ago, Remake Intergrade demonstrated what was possible, and now Rebirth demonstrates what is achievable. The fact that one of the most ambitious role-playing games of the decade can be played both on a television and in handheld form without losing the essence of what makes it special is nothing short of impressive. For longtime fans, this is an easy recommendation. For newcomers willing to start with Intergrade first, it represents one of the finest RPG journeys currently available. And for Nintendo Switch 2 itself? This may very well be one of its defining showcase titles (for now).

9.5 / 10.0 - Swan Song
Jun 4, 2026

Swan Song is a masterfully composed puzzle game. The level design, with its fun and engaging mechanics, is a masterclass in game design because the concepts are gradually introduced and made more challenging. These concepts synergise beautifully and never overstay their welcome. The emotional story of grief and loss presented between puzzles brought tears to my eyes. Although it is a difficult subject, the subtle way it is presented through family artefacts and the excellent voice acting will ensure that Swan Song will stick with me for years to come.
