While it might have been a mediocre title fifteen years ago, today it can't compete with either new games or the classics from its original era. But all in all, we think that's okay. It might be useful for a little nostalgia boost, but anyone looking for a fun or good game should steer clear of "Captain Blood."

The short playing time, the lack of replay value, the lack of presence of the mascots, the lack of a sense of horror, and the sometimes frustrating controls are just some of these criticisms. "Finding Frankie" laid the foundation for a series, and it remains to be hoped that future spin-offs will offer more.

Although "Big Helmet Heroes" offers casual action with a nice look from the first minute, it lacks any depth. The story is thin and the gameplay is very shallow. You can have a bit of fun, especially in co-op, but the battles are mostly limited to simply pressing buttons in the hope that you don't lose sight of yourself and your opponents.

"Fast & Furious: Arcade Edition" is definitely suitable for a few rounds of refined arcade racing. The controls are appealing, and the gameplay is turbo-fast and compelling. Unfortunately, the rest of the title is almost entirely below average, especially when it comes to scope and replay value.

With a length of about four hours, "Speedollama" is short, but still stretches its time. The core gameplay is entertaining and feels good apart from the wall jumps, but there is simply a lack of variety. Especially the coolly designed boss fights seem particularly lame. Nevertheless, it's definitely harder to invest your money if you're in the mood for an old-school run-and-gun shooter.

The controls and battles are clumsy, the hit feedback sometimes seems like it came from hell, and the content not taken from the film is sometimes quite strange. At the same time, however, the title can be entertaining for a few hours if you consider it a time capsule from the year 2000.

The levels all look very similar, the characters play very similarly, and the story is forgettable. However, anyone looking for a classic shooter and who can convince their group of friends to buy "Painkiller" can certainly be entertained for a few hours.

The design, the creatures, Ava herself and the story are imaginative, profound, beautiful and thought-provoking. In the first few hours of the game, it is incredibly fun to discover new animals, tame them and save them. This part is loosened up by shallow puzzles and a few jumping passages. However, this feeling quickly wears off and it feels more like you just have to tick off a few mission objectives in a game. The combat system is not very entertaining due to the camera and variety is only written in capital letters in terms of environment and design. "Creatures of Ava" can entertain for a few hours and having a game without violence and instead a nice message is definitely very desirable.

Fate Seeker II is simply overwhelming in most aspects. With 20 fighting styles that each sport an enormous amount of attacks and combos, a plethora of side activities and a main story with more important characters than I could count it is just a lot. But a lot of this works surprisingly well despite all of this. The puzzles and investigations are especially great as is the main story and its cast once you start to see how everything and everyone is connected in one way or another. Unfortunately the combat itself is mostly dull, the English translation feels a bit shoddy and the technical aspects are middling at best. And yet it is an oddly compelling title that offers an interesting look at a different type of game from China.

Anyone who's never played "Yakuza 3" will definitely have fun with "Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties." The story is exciting, there's plenty to do everywhere, and the new mode with Mine as the playable character is sure to provide many hours of entertainment. However, all in all, this third "Kiwami" installment just doesn't quite gel. This is certainly due to the numerous removed elements from the original, the lack of depth in the new features, and the reuse of familiar structures from other RGG games. Aside from the roguelike mode, which isn't exactly groundbreaking either, many things are just another copy that's rather unexciting.

When "Metal Eden" is fun, it's truly enjoyable. The battles are challenging and require full concentration and quick decision-making. At the same time, gameplay-wise, it's just a copy of other, better games and offers little that stands out.

Anyone who loves Metroidvanias, especially the classic "Castlevania" games, should definitely check out "Chronicles of the Wolf." The look, gameplay, and soundtrack instantly transport you to a dark, gothic, and monster-infested world in the South of France. Unfortunately, the game's running time is excessively long due to the game's backtracking, and the lack of save options only makes this more obvious.

Cruising across a beautiful and desolate alien planet on a hoverboard while listening to an atmospheric soundtrack is incredibly fun, feels great, and never gets boring. Unfortunately, the rest of "Star Overdrive" can't quite keep up. Most gameplay elements, like the combat and platforming, aren't bad, but they never come close to blowing you away. Crafting and leveling feel very superficial. If you get involved in the story and the world, you can still have a good time with the title.

The core mechanics with the backpack are ingenious. It's not unique, and there are now several games with similar mechanics, but it remains fantastic. Packing your backpack as skillfully as possible and creating a deadly build for your character is fascinating over and over again. Unfortunately, most of the other aspects of "Backpack Hero" are mediocre at best. The story is boring and becomes almost unbearable due to a miserable font. The construction of Haversack Hill is confusing and unnecessarily complicated. The fights sometimes lack balance, which is why you are quickly too strong or too weak. In addition, the menu control with controller and virtual mouse cursor is neither pleasant nor intuitive. Nevertheless, the core mechanics manage to entice you again and again with another run and have fun with it.

"Orcs Must Die! Deathrap" does a lot of things right, especially in its flagship discipline, a mixture of tower defense and action. Having an effective plan and implementing it with your traps and your own skills is brilliant. It looks beautiful and just feels good.
