Earlier today, Nintendo finally lifted the lid on one of its worst-kept secrets, and revealed its upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. We didn't get much of a look, but we did get a release window of 2026 along with about 10 seconds of sleeping Link, showing us his updated Ocarina design. Safe to say, not everyone is a fan.
Of course, Nintendo has given itself a mountain of task in trying to remake what many people consider the greatest game of all time, so people are going to be very difficult to please. However, the mixed reactions (mostly negative) to Link's design have surprised me somewhat, especially with how dramatic some of them are.
Take one quick look on Twitter, and you'll see quite a lot of hot takes on Link's design, one coming from a user called NopeSignal, which has amassed almost 2,000 likes and simply says "I don't like that he looks like that." Another reply to that comment from a user called Superfreakingm tries to nail down the issue, claiming it looks like "Link’s head pasted on a child's body."
